By the end of this month, I’ll have been renovating my house for a full year. To the naked eye, it might not look like a lot has changed, save for some new flooring and fresh paint on the walls. However, under the surface, there’s a lot more that’s been going on. Cue an unexpected, full-house rewire (which meant an unexpected, full-house replaster), a sneaky lead-pipe situation that forced some of our newly laid flooring right back up again, and more DIY mishaps than there are aisles in B&Q.
Whilst all this has been testing, to say the least, the thing keeping me on course is my creative vision. Sure, I might not have the actual funds to furnish said house right now, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep dreaming up beautiful interior moments in my head. I could talk interiors all day and often do—my poor colleagues have spent the past 365 days listening to my woes and affirming my design decisions.
I’ve been sending them link after link asking, “What do you think of this?”, or suggesting pieces I’ve spotted that I think they’d like themselves (“This would look gorgeous in your living room.”). As such, it was mutually decided that I would start a Who What Wear first—a brand-new rolling homeware column—so I could live out my décor fantasies and afford my colleagues some peace. A win-win, so they say.

Whilst I won’t claim to be a professional interior designer, my 13 years as a fashion editor means I have a trained eye for stylish pieces, as well as the ability to identify items that go beyond whatever the current trend cycle may be—something that’s especially important when it comes to interiors. For some reason, buying something for the home always feels like more of an investment than doing the same for your wardrobe, doesn’t it?
Assuming, if you’ve found yourself here, that interiors and homeware are of interest to you, bookmark this tab, because I’ll be sharing new-in, trending homeware with you here every month. With pieces from H&M to Soho Home, I’ll include items for every budget and interior aesthetic, all with some handy styling tips thrown in. Scroll on to see this month’s edit.

The ideal addition to the above sideboard.

TOAST

A Diptique candle with a rattan lid? Dreams do come true.

DUNELM

£299
I’m considering ordering this for my bedroom.

ARKET
Gold-Plated Napkin Ring
£15
Every hostess worth their Maldon salt knows that it’s the finer details that really pull together a tablescape. These napkin rings will add an elegant touch, no matter your theme.

LOEWE
Tomato Leaves Liquid Soap
£56
That’s right, Loewe has progressed from candles and reed diffusers to hand soap. My salary will never quite hit the same.

SOHO HOME
Karine Armchair in Linen Bisque
£995
Soho Home creates exquisite pieces that are sure to elevate any space. Build a chic reading nook by placing this in the corner of your room, adding a wall sconce (a rechargeable bulb will mean no wiring is required), a thrifted bookcase (I just found one on Facebook Marketplace) and a cosy throw.

TRULY
Fringed Square Velvet Cushion in Burnt Orange
£45
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect rust-coloured cushion (one that doesn’t look like a Halloween gimmick). This is it.

DAALS
Venus Full Length Wave Mirror in Walnut
£300
I know scalloped edges are a big trend right now, but instead of investing in little pieces here and there, which can look a little OTT when it all comes together, I’d advise going for one big item to really buy in. This mirror would look chic leaning against a soft blue wall, but the dark-wood frame will also add depth to neutral colour schemes.

ZARA HOME
Antique-Effect Metal Table
£86
I spent weeks sourcing a vintage, wrought-iron martini table just like this on eBay, only for it to eventually go well beyond my budget. Right on cue, Zara has come up with the goods (in two sizes, no less).

ANTHROPOLOGIE
Madeline Embroidered Cotton Napkins, Set of 4
£40
Adding cloth napkins will make even the most humble of weekday dinners feel more special.

NINA CAMPBELL
Green Chester Table Lamp
£95
Next has teamed up with interiors expert Nina Campbell to create an edit of seriously chic pieces, this lamp being one of the strongest in the collection.

DIPTYQUE
La Droguerie Room Spray
£56
You know I’m going to want to have this elegant room spray on display for all to see.

VAISSELLE
Venus Blue Vase
£215£172
Vaisselle specialises in creating pretty ceramics with a French design flair by utilising traditional techniques in a modern way, i.e. with a vibrant colour palette.

H&M HOME
Six-Pack Glasses
£15
So cute! I have no cupboard space left (glassware is my vice), but so cute.

LOUIS DE POORTERE
Starfield Rug
£599
The subtle green hue woven into this rug will add a palatable dose of colour into any room.

EVERMORE LONDON
Grove Candle
£60
I recently burned an Evermore London candle and was impressed by its fragrance payoff and burn time. Next, I’m inviting the outdoors in with this Grove scent—a blend of pine needle, eucalyptus, moss and silver fir.

THE WHITE COMPANY
Hayling Bowl
£120
I always find something to lust after from The White Company, and this is next in line. This bowl has been skilfully crafted in Indonesia using heritage techniques.

DUNELM
Beatrice Woven Stripe Snuggle Chair in Coral
£399
This chair looks so much more expensive than its price tag. It comes in taupe and olive (and a charcoal colourway that’s currently out of stock), but the pink is definitely the most beautiful of them all, in my opinion. As someone who’s favourite colour is beige, that’s saying something.

M&S COLLECTION
Pure Cotton Checked Cushion
£23
I’m always looking for tricks to add depth to my interiors, and the easiest way to do so is with different textures. This cotton cushion will layer seamlessly with the velvet ones I already own, creating more visual interest without distracting from the overall look.

CREATE ACADEMY
The Ultimate Guide to Interior Design with Rita Konig
£147
If you’re interested in brushing up on your interiors know-how, Create Academy is an unrivalled resource. With online courses led by industry experts, you can learn a new craft whilst picking up plenty of inspo for yourself.

LOEWE
Anagram Blanket in Wool, Pale Celadon Glaze
£695
Loewe’s blankets have become just as much of a status symbol as its bags. I’d layer this over the arm of a chair with the leather logo appliqué facing outwards for all to see.

SOHO HOME
Purton Highball, Set of Two
£55
See what I mean about glassware? My absolute vice. But who could resist this set of olive-green highballs?

INSIDE STORY
Bobbin Mirror
£199
Bobbin detailing is having a renaissance, with bobbled wood featuring on everything from chair legs to chic mirrors, just like this one.

ZARA HOME
Monochrome Tactile Lamp
£50
One of the most reliable ways to make your interiors look more premium is with lamps, and lots of them. This brass style looks so expensive.

ARTFULLY WALLS
Pink Petals by Rosie Harbottle
£328
Original artwork is an investment—when you find something as special as this, it’s best not to let it pass you by.

BED THREADS
Limoncello & Terracotta Check Bath Towel Bundle
£290£261
Bed Threads has some of the chicest bedding and cushions on the market, but its towels? They’re in a league of their own.

LA REDOUTE
Asayo Stool
£115£86
Placed beside the bathtub or used as a rustic side table; the potential spots to place this stool are endless.

DAYLESFORD FARM
Leaf Charger Serving Plate
£48
I received this platter as a Christmas gift and it’s almost too beautiful to use. Almost.

OYOY LIVING DESIGN
Mizu Glass Pack of 2 in Rose

MATILDA GOAD & CO.
Pair of Star Backplates in Nickel
£35
Spruce up an old sideboard or plain cupboard with some of the most stunning hardware I’ve ever laid eyes on. Matilda Goad, you’re a genius.
